Otter Class 2021 - 2022
Welcome to all our lovely new Otters and their families. We are excited for a fantastic (and hopefully more normal!!) year! We will keep this page updated with photos of the children's work and exciting things we have been doing in school. If any of the Otters, should need to isolate and be well enough to complete some home learning, please contact the school and Mrs Gould or Mrs Ricks on the below email and we will organise some live teaching sessions and learning for you.

Well done to the Year 2 Art Challenge winner for term 4
Project Touchline Rugby
Every Friday we are joined by Chris from Project Touchline.
We start our day with an assembly where we celebrate a school value and think about how we can incorporate this into our lives at home, school and then how it applies to rugby. In the afternoons we take part in a rugby session, which involves lots of different games (Scarecrow Tag, Lions and Rabbits, Seals and Sharks, The Jesus Game and Sumo Tag).
The whole session is great fun!
WORLD BOOK DAY 2022
This year we decided to all come to school wearing a mask of a book character. We took part in lots of fun activities including sharing books, quizzes and games, making our own bookmarks and we even had a visit from The Iroko Theatre Group.
IROKO THEATRE GROUP VISIT
3rd March 2022
Our day with the Iroko Theatre Group was amazing!
We had an assembly where we took part in some story telling about The Chicken, The Cow and The Goat. The story involved lots of actions, expression, music, dancing and us!
Throughout the day we enjoyed more dancing in the hall - some of us showed off our freestyle skills, and to end our day a story in the classroom.
The Great Fire of London
Otter class had a fantastic end to their topic of The Great Fire of London today!
The children spent the morning designing and creating Tudor houses in preparation for our Great Fire in the playground. They were amazed at just how quickly the fire spread and burnt all of their houses, until only ash was left on the ground.
It has been a really busy term and the children have worked very hard and learnt so much.

Merry Christmas!
It has been such an exciting day at school today. The quote of the day was "best day ever!"
The children have been busy designing tree decorations, creating their own party crowns, having breakfast with Father Christmas and playing lots of party games.
Thank you so much for all of the gifts that have come in, we are all very grateful. Have the best Christmas and we wish you lots of luck for 2022.

HABITATS
In Science this term the Otter class have been learning all about living things and their habitats. We researched different types of habitats (Arctic, oceans, jungles, forests and more) and discovered what they provided for the plants and animals that live in them.
As an exciting end to our unit we spent some time today creating a habitat in a box.

AFRICAM
Otter class were very excited today when they spotted a crocodile whilst watching cameras Live in Africa on the website Africam! They also saw lots of different birds and a herd of gazelles.

Look at our beautiful Kente cloth weaving! We learned about 'The Spider Weaver' story and the meaning behind different colours. We then choose the colours for our design and weaved using paper strips and holding strips.

Last Week!! Where has the time gone!! I can't wait to see most of you on Wednesday!
Hello!!Only two weeks left to go! Hope you are all doing well with your home learning challenges and well done to those of you doing your purple mash jobs.
We have sent you an invitation on parentmail to join us at school on Wednesday the 15th July 2-3pm for a farewell chat! You will also be able to meet your new teacher. We hope you can make it. Please message me to let me know so I can make sure I have enough ice lollies!!!

Morning Otters! Hope you have all had a good week and not got too wet in the rain! Here are next weeks challenges. Keep sending me messages of all the brilliant work you have been doing. Hi Otters! I have received so many great emails showing me the brilliant things you have been up to at home this week and I am so proud of everyone for keeping up the hard work. I can see that lots of you are very busy on purple mash and have enjoyed sending emails to me and your friends which has been lovely! A few of you are doing amazingly well on Sumdog and spelling shed but we need more of you doing this if we are going to win the school challenge! If we have ten of you on Sumdog this week we get entered into a competition with other schools too which would be very exciting!
Here are your next learning challenges. Please ask your grown ups to keep in touch and let me know what you have been up to not just with your learning challenges but with other fantastic things too like baking, building, gardening, bike riding, shoe tying or anything else you have had fun with or are proud of! I am putting dojo's on for all of these things!
